Spirituality and sensuality animate Dust and Light, an unforgettable production by American choreographer Alonzo King. The ballet offers a series of fascinating contrasts — it comprises fifteen pieces of contemporary dance, set to Baroque concerti by Arcangelo Corelli and religious chants by Francis Poulenc.
The extraordinary light shows designed by Axel Morgenthaler wash over the dancers of the Alonzo King LINES Ballet, delicately reinforcing the mystery of the music and reinforcing the impression of perpetual motion that enchants the spectator. The work is a “lyrical celebration of the forces whose interplay shapes our lives” (The Guardian).
