Stoic

By In Dance 1 hour 18 min

In an iconic library designed by the visual artist Hans Op de Beeck, life is lived as if nothing will ever change. Self-centeredness and a clumsy search for acknowledgement thrive in pursuit of inner peace. The monochrome grey library is a counterweight to the trivia of everyday life. It is indifferent and unyielding – stoic. Live music on stage; Arabic vocals, Congolese music and Japanese percussion are woven together by composer Felix Buxton.

Stoic is the final part of a trilogy created for , in which the choreographer departs from his usual spiritual or religious topics and focuses more on science, philosophy and sociology: Noetic, Icon and Stoic. With these three creations, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani has toured internationally to sold-out arenas.

Recording from 2018/2019.
