The Temptation of Eve

By In Dance 1 hour 17 min

The Temptation of Eve is a hybrid solo mixing dance, theatre of body and object into a performance on the history of women through centuries. Through multiple identities, the iconic French dancer and choreographer evolves in different worlds where she plays with both the dramatic and comedic codes of theatre.

An ode to femininity, set to the superb music of Mozart, Bach, Haendel and Saint-Saëns.

First ballerina at the Paris Opera in 1988, and étoile in 1990, Marie-Claude Pietragalla was one of the favorite dancers of Rudolf Nureyev when he was directing the Paris Opera Ballet Company. She has performed works by the world's leading choreographers and is now herself an established and highly regarded figure in the profession.

A unique creation by Pietragalla – an ode to femininity, set to the superb music of Mozart, Bach, Haendel and Saint-Saëns. The production features the voice of Barbara, imposing sets, masks and puppets. The costumes have been designed by Stephen Rolland.
